NOTES Traveling together

Can Non-Anglers Join a Fly Fishing Trip in Patagonia?

Share a day outdoors with your partner or travel companion, even when only one of you wants to fish.

A fishing trip does not have to separate anglers from the people traveling with them. Southern Rivers Patagonia welcomes non-angling companions on private day trips from Bariloche. The important step is to explain your plans when booking, so the trip can suit everyone who will be sharing it.

Enjoying the river without a fly rod

For a companion, the attraction may be the rivers and lakes around Bariloche, taking photographs or simply spending time outdoors together. A fishing day follows the rhythm of the river, so it helps to discuss how much time you are comfortable spending in a boat and what sort of experience you want.

A full-day trip includes a riverside lunch, giving everyone a shared break between fishing sessions. If your schedule is shorter, compare half-day and full-day options before choosing.

Someone who wants to try a few casts is welcome to ask about fly fishing for beginners. There is no need to decide that every member of your party will spend the whole day fishing.

Planning a stay for different interests

Our all-inclusive fishing programs can also accommodate non-angling guests. Choosing between a fishing lodge and a hotel in Bariloche helps establish the pace and setting of the trip.

The Limay River and Manso River offer contrasting scenery. We can discuss which setting and travel time best fit the day you want to share.

Activities outside the fishing program, such as trekking or horseback riding, require separate arrangements and are not automatically included. Tell us who is traveling, which days you would like to share and your priorities. We can then discuss a practical plan for anglers and companions alike.
