A full day on the Limay gives you time to settle into the fishing. We float a section selected for the conditions, work promising water and stop to wade where the river allows.
Brown and rainbow trout are the main focus. Your guide reads the current, chooses the flies and adapts the approach to your experience, whether you are learning your first cast or refining a familiar technique.
Lunch is part of the day: a pause on the riverbank for Argentine food, good conversation and the landscape. Then it is back to the water for the afternoon before returning to your accommodation in Bariloche.

We organize the transfers, equipment and fishing, so you can settle into the experience.

Pickup at your accommodation
Meet your guide in Bariloche for the transfer to the Limay. The meeting time and chosen stretch are confirmed before the outing.
- Around 9:30–10:00 AM
The morning on the river
Begin the float and fish the water that suits the conditions. Your guide helps with technique, fly selection and boat positioning.

Lunch on the riverbank
Pause for appetizers, grilled Argentine steak, salads and dessert, accompanied by Malbec wine. Let us know any dietary requirements beforehand.

More fishing, then back to Bariloche
After lunch we return to the water, usually fishing until around 5:00 PM. Your guide takes you back to your accommodation.

What is the difference from the half-day trip?
The full-day outing gives you the morning and afternoon on the river and includes an Argentine riverside lunch. The half-day trip focuses on the morning and includes a snack instead of lunch.
Do we fish from a boat or wade?
We float the river and stop at suitable wading spots when conditions allow. The mix depends on the river level, chosen stretch and your preferences.
Is this trip suitable for beginners?
Yes. The guide adapts the day and provides instruction. Let us know your experience so we can recommend an appropriate plan.
When can I fish for migratory brown trout?
April and May are the main period described in our Limay fishing calendar. This is demanding fishing that we recommend for experienced anglers; catches are never guaranteed.
