We are a family business based in Bariloche, united by our love of Patagonia, fly fishing and life outdoors. Since 2007, we’ve been sharing the rivers and lakes of Northern Patagonia with our guests.

A life shaped
by Patagonia.
I’m Lucas Esteban Valenti, owner and head guide of Southern Rivers Patagonia. I’m 51 and live with my wife Maru and our son Thiago in Dina Huapi, a small town about 10 miles from Bariloche.
My passion for fly fishing brought me from Buenos Aires to Patagonia 24 years ago. I’ve spent 22 years guiding, getting to know the rivers and lakes of Nahuel Huapi National Park and the waters around Bariloche.
Along the way, I’ve guided at Río Manso Lodge and Estancia Arroyo Verde, as well as for local outfitters. I’m also a certified tour and rafting guide in the Patagonia region.

A story we share.
I’m Maru, Lucas’s wife. I’m 42 and have called Patagonia home for 17 years. I’m also a tour guide in the Patagonia region and handle reservations, guest emails and the logistics of our guided fishing trips and expeditions.
I’ve loved nature since I was a child. After meeting Lucas and falling in love, I decided to move to Bariloche so we could build a new life together in Patagonia.
From the moment I arrived, I fell in love with the landscapes and rivers. Over time, I became an experienced fly angler. Today, Lucas, our son Thiago and I share that love of Patagonia and enjoy nature and life outdoors together.
